2016

85 year anniversary & 50 years Internorm brand!

Tradition and innovation characterise our company history. We are celebrating this anniversary with our distribution partners in the Vienna Musikverein.

Travel with us through the last 85 years and enjoy our anniversary video.

2016

I-tec core

Another I-tec innovation is put on the market: Glued timber layers ensure more stability and strength in the window core. This timber is considerably more humidity-resistant, more resilient and extremely strong.

2015

500,000 entrance doors

In 1998, Internorm put the first aluminium entrance door with foam insulation core on the market. Next to four aluminium door systems, Internorm also offers two timber/aluminium door systems today. Our customers value the high-quality processing and individual design possibilities. In 2015 therefore, the 500,000th entrance door was produced.

2015

Start of toughened glass production

Manufacturing expertise and at the same time supplier independence was further extended with the erection of a plant to produce toughened security glass (ESG) on the Traun site.
The specially thermally insulating glass is characterised by increased impact strength and is resistant to large temperature differences.

2014

I-tec SmartWindow

I-tec ventilation and I-tec shading can be controlled via the intelligent home control. Controls for sun protection and fanlight opener as well as opening control are added later. Mobile control when you are on the way are possible through this, too.

2012

I-tec innovations

Internorm develops the first three revolutionary I-tec innovations:

I-tec locking: unrivalled, fully integrated locking
I-tec ventilation: ventilation system integrated into the window frame
I-tec shading: first photovoltaic blind in the window with integrated blinds

2002

Founding of IFN

Founding of the international window network. Next to Internorm, independent, specialised companies develop with the aim to use knowledge transfer and innovations of common synergies.

2002

Introduction of FIX-O-ROUND technology

For the first time glass panes are glued to the sash at Internorm. This considerably improves stability, thermal insulation, sound reduction, burglary protection and functioning of the window for its entire lifetime.

2001

Start of timber/aluminium window production

Internorm develops a completely new type of timber/aluminium window system and meets customers' demands for maintenance-free "timber windows".

1997

Third generation

The 2. generation withdraws from the operative business to the supervisory board of directors and delegates one of their children respectively – Anette Klinger, Christian Klinger and Stephan Kubinger – to the management board.

1991

Distribution changes to specialist traders

Direct distribution stops: Internorm products are exclusively available via qualified specialist traders - this is unique in the brand.

1986

Windows with integrated blinds

Internorm develops the window with integrated blinds, a window with integrated sun and privacy protection between the panes.

1984

Start of insulating glass manufacture

Internorm is building its first in-house insulating glass manufacture in Traun and in the meantime has become Austria's largest insulating glass manufacturer.

1983

Export campaign

Internorm is starting to export to Germany, Italy and Switzerland. In Turkey, shares in the company Campen A. S., Bursa are acquired.

1982

Production plant Lannach

A UPVC window production plant is built at the Lannach site in Styria. In 1988 the first Internorm timber window are produced in this plant, nowadays the plant specialises in timber/aluminium products.

1979

Internorm3

The revolutionary system "Internorm3“ - 3 panes and 3 gaskets - is introduced to the market with great success.

1977

Factory in Sarleinsbach / Start of extrusion

Internorm acquires a local window factory in Sarleinsbach/Upper Austria and converts this into a UPVC Competence Centre.  In 1979, in-house extrusion starts.

1967

Second generation

Eduard Klinger sen. involves his three children Eleonore, Eduard and Helmut in the company with 25% stakes each.

1966

Factory Traun / The Internorm brand

In Traun in Upper Austria, a UPVC window factory is being built. This is also the birth of the Internorm brand. Internorm's first brand appearance occurs at the exhibition stand of E. KLINGER.

1946

Building of portals

Klinger Metallbau is leading manufacturer of aluminium portals in Linz. For the first time large-scale glass architecture is possible through self-developed glazing beads.

1931

The founder

Eduard Klinger sen. lay the foundation for the company with the formation of the building and construction locksmith's in Linz/OÖ.
